2026 Training Runs

Ice Age is hosting two training runs on Saturday, April 18th and Saturday, April 25th starting and ending in the Nordic area (the start/finish of the race). Both runs will commence at 7:30 a.m.

The first run will follow a 35-mile course that includes the Nordic loop (nine miles) and an out-and-back to Rice Lake. A minimalist aid station will be set up at Hwy 12 (roughly the 18 and 26-mile points), with water, Heed and snacks.

f a 35-miler isn’t part of your training plan, a race official will be on site to offer ideas for shorter routes.

The second run on April 25th will be an out-and-back to Emma Carlin (roughly 19 miles). Aid will be available at Horserider’s Camp (6.5 and 13 miles).

Feel free to bring along your friends! The training runs are open to everyone, whether or not they are registered in the Ice Age Trail 50.

You will need a state vehicle admission pass to park in the Nordic lot. If you are participating in the training runs and the May 9th race, we recommend purchasing an annual pass. You can purchase a pass here (or at the Nordic entrance).
