Registration for the 43rd annual Ice Age Trail 50 will open on Sunday, December 15.
Registration for the 50-mile race opens at noon CT, followed by the 50k at 3:00 and 6:00 p.m. for the Half Marathon. You can register here or via the Ice Age Trail 50 website.
Race day is Saturday, May 10, 2025.
All three events usually sell out quickly, but you should have no trouble registering if you wait five minutes after the official open. That said, if you attempt to register before your race is sold out, don’t panic! Simply email the RD at iceage50rd@gmail.com and your name will be added to the wait list in the order it was received. Historically — and without exception — all wait listed runners in the ultra events have been given the opportunity to run with us on race day.
Runners who meet any of the following criteria are invited to participate in an early registration event on Saturday, December 7 from 3:00-5:00 p.m.:
* You have nine or more IAT finishes (in any single event or combination of events).
* You volunteered at the 2024 race.
* You finished top 10 overall (men and women) or top three in your age division in any of the 2024 races. Results are posted here.
* Your entry was deferred from 2024 (watch your inbox for instructions).
*You are the race director of an ultramarathon.
*You are registered in the 2025 50k Mash-up series.
*You are a paid member of the Upper Midwest Trail Runners.
Please do not attempt to use the early registration option if you do not meet this criterion. Unqualified entries will be rejected, and runners will be ineligible to run in 2025.
